For nearly two decades, Tripower Construction operated as a traditional builder, carving out a niche in large renovations and homes with attached equestrian facilities. However, when Mikey Sanchez took over as the new CEO in 2021, he made a strategic pivot to help the company grow faster.

Mikey transitioned Tripower away from a labor-heavy model to a high-end management firm focusing on multi-million dollar custom homes and complex developments, such as skyscraper rooftop projects.

Their software was holding them back. The team relied on fragmented software and manual workflows mostly "Excel wizardry" and endless email threads. While these tools were enough to manage two or three projects, they created a chaotic environment as the project load increased.

"Administrative tasks were relegated to evenings and weekends," Mikey recalls. Without a centralized system, tracking real-time profitability and managing client expectations became a high-stress gamble.

Mikey’s goal was to take on larger, more complex projects like developing empty land into tracts with homes on five-acre parcels, but Tripower needed professional infrastructure to support that change.

Single Source of Truth

Tripower Construction implemented Houzz Pro as their central operating system to establish an end-to-end workflow in one system. The goal was to eliminate manual data entry and provide a transparent, high-end experience for their custom home clients.

The transition solved several key operational bottlenecks:

  • Centralized financials: Moving away from rigid spreadsheets, Tripower used the Estimate and Budget tools to create master pricing sheets. This allowed them to integrate subcontractor bids and MSRP pricing directly into the system.

  • Visual selections: To cater to high-end clients, they adopted Houzz Pro’s Selection Boards. This turned the often-overwhelming process of picking finishes into a collaborative experience. Instead of managing selections in email and excel over many days, Mikey and team meet in person with the client and finalize selections all at once from a single source of truth. "It’s where we meet in the conference room, view options on a large screen, and let the client pick what looks good to them," says Mikey.

  • AI for operational efficiency: Tripower leaned into Houzz AI features to bridge the gap between estimating and execution. By generating project Schedules automatically from Estimates, they eliminated three hours of manual scheduling for every $750,000 project.

  • Client transparency: The Client Dashboard became the single source of truth, eliminating the 'he-said, she-said' back and forth discussions. There's no more arguing over what was promised because the Dashboard houses change orders, daily logs, and contracts, ensuring homeowners feel informed at all times.

Capable of Anything

Mikey’s changes yielded immediate and dramatic financial results. Since adopting the platform and shifting their business model in 2021, Tripower Construction has seen its revenue triple from a base of $1.5 million.

After finishing 2025 at $4.5 million, the firm is currently on track to hit $7 million this year. Tripower Construction has successfully evolved into a premier custom home firm, capable of building anything from large custom homes to luxury high-rises.

As Mikey puts it, “The software has provided us the resources and opportunity to become the larger contractor we aimed to be. Houzz Pro has been a huge improvement for us. The ability to see all project information—finances, change orders, daily logs, contracts—in one place is crucial."

That impact shows up clearly in their day-to-day work. As Mikey explains, “Managing six projects currently in Houzz Pro feels very comfortable compared to managing 2–3 projects in the chaos of Excel.”

Key Outcomes

3x revenue growth: Tripled annual revenue in 4 years to $4.5 million, on track to hit $7 million by 2026.

Doubled capacity: The team now manages 6 simultaneous custom builds "very comfortably" with more ease than they managed 3 projects in "the chaos" of Excel.

Massive time savings: The AI-powered Schedule tool saves three hours of administrative work per project during the set up phase.
