REVIEW PERFORMANCE

  • Think back. Think about your business goals a year ago. Did you want more leads or higher quality leads? Or were you hoping to increase your exposure through online branding?
  • Analyze results. Look at your marketing channels and assess their effectiveness. If your goal was to land more projects, did you get more leads and close more deals? If you were hoping for branding, what kind of exposure did you receive?
  • Determine the best methods. Decide where to increase or decrease your marketing spend based on the performance and quality of the results. The cheapest option may not always give the best outcome, so it’s important to weigh the costs and the benefits.

REDEFINE YOUR TARGET MARKET

  • Consider your prior targets. Recall what type of projects, the client demographics, and project locations you wanted to target in the past year’s marketing. Who was your ideal client?
  • Compare to actual projects. Reflect on the types of projects and clients you worked with over the past year and if they matched up to that ideal client you were hoping to work with.
  • Update your ideal client profile. If your actual clients and ideal clients don’t match up, recalibrate your target market or consider making marketing changes to improve your chances of connecting.

REFRESH YOUR DIGITAL PRESENCE

  • Evaluate status. Look at your online presence and determine if your Houzz profile could use new photos or reviews, or if your website could use some new content.
  • Update content. Upload any project photos from the past year that you haven’t uploaded, or reach out to past clients to schedule a shoot. Ask homeowners you’ve worked with to review your work who haven’t already.
  • Build your web presence. If it’s time for a major website upgrade or your website isn’t mobile friendly, Houzz can set up and manage a mobile- friendly website for you.

Carving out time in your schedule to review the items on this checklist will allow you to strategically grow your business for years to come. Make this a yearly habit with Houzz Pro's easy-to-use business management software.
