Offer Flexible Client Payments With Affirm — Without Delaying Your Payout

Financing is one of the biggest barriers to starting new projects. That’s why we’ve partnered with Affirm to give your clients a flexible Buy Now, Pay Later payment option — without changing how or when you get paid.

With Buy Now, Pay Later, you get your money upfront while your client has the flexibility to spread out payments over time. This means faster approvals, less friction, and more projects moving forward.

Why Offer Buy Now, Pay Later

Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) is financing that can offer benefits to you and your clients. For your client, it breaks large payments into manageable chunks. It makes it easier for homeowners to say “yes” to big, high-end projects — and even expand the scope of their work with you.

For your business, it allows you to get paid upfront for eligible transactions — no more waiting on monthly payments or chasing down invoices. Offering payment flexibility for your clients could allow you to increase the average project cost and win more projects to keep your cash flow strong.

Affirm FAQ

1. Why should I offer Affirm?

Affirm is a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) financial services tool that enables clients to purchase products or services with full transparency and with no hidden fees that are associated with traditional loans. Affirm may be a good option for your clients for the following reasons:

  • By enabling clients to spread out costs, you can reach those who can't afford upfront payments, improving access to projects.
  • Providing flexible payment options can alleviate financial stress for clients, leading to bigger projects, improved satisfaction and loyalty towards your business.
  • By offering a structured payment plan through Affirm, you can reduce the effort spent on following up with clients for payments.

2. What is the transaction limit for your clients via Affirm?

Affirm supports a wide range of project sizes, from $50 to $30,000 USD, but the amount the user is approved for will depend on their eligibility and credit worthiness. Affirm offers closed-end consumer loans and does not offer a line of credit products. Each loan will have its own application process.

3. What financing programs does Affirm offer?

Affirm offers a flexible checkout solution that presents affordable payment options for your clients. Clients can receive monthly payment terms ranging from 3 to 36 months (based on their eligibility) with just a few simple pieces of information.

Buying with Affirm is quick and easy — approval is a real-time decision, and returning clients just need to sign in to apply. Eligible clients are then offered up to three payment options depending on the product cost and their credit history.

4. How do my clients access Affirm as a payment option?

Whenever clients are using your payment solution for invoices, they will now have access to Affirm as an option. This is only available on invoices, and not on any other financial document type. During checkout, clients can then select Affirm as their payment method. Once clients confirm their payment plan, their order will process as usual with Affirm. They will make their payments at affirm.com or in the Affirm app, where they can turn on AutoPay..

5. How do I let my clients know about Affirm?

Based on the Houzz Pro and Affirm integration, information about Affirm will automatically be included in client email communications for invoices.

This enables a standardized experience for clients, and provides a consistent resource for Pros when they are in the field.

Here are the two approved ways to provide more information:

  1. Before or after the in-home visit, you can as usual, communicate all of the payment options that are available to clients via Houzz Pro — cards, bank transfer, and Affirm.
  2. If a client asks about payment, refer the client to the email/text communications where they can learn more about each payment option.

Please don’t attempt to describe Affirm financing services or assist consumers with their applications. Instead, direct customers to their invoice and refrain from being present while the payment is processed.
