Miter edge match issue

I have a very large island and am installing a miter edge. My slab is 65.5" wide and my cabinet base is 48" wide so not leaving me tons of room for an overhang for seating. Fabricator says he can add some from another one of my slabs for the miter on the back edge (less noticable veining won't exactly match) and give me 12" seating. Other option is he uses a piece from another slab for the front and the back and gives me 14" of seating/overhang. I really prefer the 14" but am unsure if not having a waterfall miter will look weird. Looking for opinions/options. My slab is cambria inverness everligh not sure why it looks so ugly and washed out on this screen its more white and grey.
