I would do all of it from the stove in a different color.

IMO if a different colot ahen I would do wall uppers too or depending on how wide that desk space is you could do a funky glass door fridge there

I would remove that desk area completely and put in a tall pantry with double doors. Or a combination of closed storage on the bottom, which could include the microwave, and glass enclosed shelves above if you have large items to display. You could paint it the color of the current countertop, or the color of your walls. You don't seem to have upper cabinets and that type of storage might be useful.
