What can I put over old ceiling speakers?

I’ve had these old speakers on my ceiling for years and they don’t even work. One of them had the cover fall off too. I can’t stand looking at them! Any ideas of what I can put over them?

When we have moved ceiling speakers, we have just taken them out and patched the drywall.

That's the obvious solution--take them out and patch the holes. Will it be a seamless patch? Maybe not. But is can be done, and with care (and a fresh coat of paint) no one will notice.

Anything else will just stick out and be obvious.

Why not replace them with new, better looking speakers that do work?

Looks like Amazon has quite a collection of covers availableAmazon speaker grills.

Even if they are non-functional, if you could find some that are matching and new looking then they will look better than what you have.

Some are paintable. If you can paint them to match the ceiling colour they will blend in even more. A quick fix instead of trying to patch the ceiling etc.
