# Smoothing Out the Subcontractor Experience

Davis Interiors was experiencing some serious growing pains. For the Minneapolis interior design firm, better project organization and communication with subcontractors would prove key to managing a growing workload.

## Finding a Better Way to Manage Projects

The firm’s sweet spot had long been residential remodels with whole-home furnishings, but the team began tackling new-construction projects to meet clients’ needs.

Homeowners were looking to Davis Interiors not only to create beautiful, livable spaces but also to manage projects from concept through construction. Jennifer Davis, the founder and principal designer of Davis Interiors, says the process was incredibly labor-intensive.

“We were failing at it,” says Melissa Tollefson, an interior designer at Davis Interiors. Something needed to change.
